ZERO WASTE PROJECT

KIMONO

Using rectangle pattern made up of smaller cut box shapes I was able to create a kimono style heavy drape garment, the styling is a dark pattern fabric unused from industry. This 0 waste pattern has a stitched tuck on the back of the neck to exaggerate the drape along the back to give the garment more volume without taking away from the classic silhouette. It still has a very clean and respectable look to it.

Looking into my future in fashion pattern like this, will only grow to be more relevant for me in helping combat the effects of fast fashion. Any steps that I can take to help design my way into a better future, I want to start doing now, by creating new pattens like this and finding alternative sources of materials.
